Designed for fast and reliable installation
Every Squarell IVMS is supplied with a vehicle-specific cable solution that enables fast installation while preserving the original vehicle wiring.
Because truck manufacturers use different connectors and communication architectures, the required cable set depends on the vehicle make, model and production year.
Squarell has developed a modular cable family that allows installers to select the correct cable combination for every application.
FMS Power Connection
Trucks produced before 2018
Most vehicles use the 12-pin FMS connector.
Required extension cable 8620-Q1-12
This 15 cm extension cable provides a simple plug-and-play connection while allowing the IVMS to obtain its power supply without modifying the original vehicle wiring.
Trucks produced from 2018 onwards
Most modern trucks use the 18-pin FMS connector.
Required extension cable 6820-Q1-18
The cable provides the same plug-and-play installation while supporting the newer FMS connector standard.
Additional Vehicle Data
For several vehicle manufacturers, additional CAN data is not available through the standard FMS connector.
To access the complete Vehicle Intelligence dataset, a DataCliQ connection is required.
Required cable 6812-180 DataCliQ
Typically required for:
- Renault
- Volvo
- DAF
- MAN
Tachograph Data
Some manufacturers do not make tachograph data available through the FMS connector.
In these cases, an additional cable must be routed directly to the tachograph.
Required cable 8620-RTDK
Typically required for:
- Mercedes-Benz
- Scania
- MAN
One Box Solution
Many telematics service providers initially install a SOLID+ alongside their existing telematics unit.
When they decide to replace their own hardware with a complete Squarell solution, the SOLID+ can be replaced by the REMOTE+ without changing the installation concept.
This enables a straightforward migration to a fully connected Vehicle Intelligence solution with integrated modem, GNSS and remote connectivity.gence

Because these platforms are used in a wide variety of applications, the cable configuration is determined per project.
