Parameter Groups

What is a Parameter Group?

Every fleet application depends on reliable information.

A Squarell Parameter Group is a collection of related vehicle parameters organised around a specific vehicle function, such as the engine, brakes, transmission or tachograph.

Each Parameter Group has its own unique message header, followed by a structured list of parameters. These harmonised parameters are generated by a Squarell IVMS from multiple OEM vehicle networks and transmitted as a single message.

Parameter Groups are available through a subscription model. The minimum subscription period is 12 months, after which subscriptions can be modified or cancelled on a monthly basis. Individual Parameter Groups can be activated or deactivated remotely using Squarell’s ExpertView device management platform.

To simplify implementation, related Parameter Groups are organised into Solution categories such as Uptime, Operational and Compliance. Together, the Squarell harmonised Parameter Groups™ provide a consistent information layer across different vehicle brands, allowing fleet applications to focus on business value rather than vehicle integration.

How do you configure a Parameter Group?

Each Parameter Group can be configured to match the requirements of the application.

Typical configuration options include:

  • Transmission interval
  • Event-based transmission
  • Threshold-triggered transmission
  • Selected output port
  • Message buffering (REMOTE+ only)

Depending on the type of information, Parameter Groups can transmit data at fixed intervals, after a specific event, or when predefined conditions are met, such as exceeding a configurable threshold.

Squarell IVMS devices support multiple output interfaces, allowing Parameter Groups to be routed to the appropriate communication channel.

The REMOTE+ also supports intelligent message buffering, ensuring that valuable information is not lost when communication is temporarily unavailable.

Organised by Solution

To simplify implementation, Parameter Groups are organised into the same business-oriented categories used throughout the Squarell platform.
