Engine Data (ENG)
Know how the heart of your vehicle is performing
The engine is one of the most valuable and critical components of a commercial vehicle.
The Squarell Engine Data Parameter Group provides continuous insight into the mechanical and thermal operating condition of the engine. Oil, coolant, air and operating information are combined into one harmonised message, enabling fleet applications to detect abnormal conditions before they develop into expensive failures.
For mixed fleets, the same harmonised information is provided regardless of vehicle manufacturer.

Typical Applications
The Engine Data Parameter Group supports applications such as:
- Engine condition monitoring
- Predictive maintenance
- Overheating detection
- Lubrication monitoring
- Cooling system monitoring
- Engine performance analysis
- Workshop planning
- Remote diagnostics
- Fleet health dashboards
- Vehicle efficiency monitoring
Key Parameters
Engine Lubrication
Oil condition is essential for engine reliability and lifetime.
Typical parameters include:
- Engine Oil Level
- Engine Oil Pressure
- Engine Oil Temperature
Cooling System
Continuous monitoring of the cooling system can reveal developing problems before an overheating warning occurs.
Typical parameters include:
- Engine Coolant Level
- Engine Coolant Pressure
- Engine Coolant Temperature
Air & Thermal Conditions
Air pressure and temperature provide valuable information about the operating conditions of the engine.
Typical parameters include:
- Intake Temperature
- Intake Pressure
- Exhaust Temperature
- Ambient Temperature
Engine Operation
Operating information helps applications understand how intensively the engine is being used.
Typical parameters include:
- Total Revolutions
- Engine Speed
- Engine Load
- Actual Engine Torque
- Engine Operating Hours
The complete Parameter Group and parameter definitions are available to Squarell partners.
Visualisation
Engine information can be presented in a vehicle health dashboard showing current values, operating ranges, trends and threshold exceedances.
Combining values over time makes it possible to identify gradual changes that may not yet generate a vehicle warning.

Business Value
The Engine Data Parameter Group helps fleet operators to:
- detect abnormal engine conditions earlier
- prevent overheating and lubrication-related damage
- improve preventive maintenance
- reduce unexpected breakdowns
- support faster workshop diagnosis
- monitor engine utilisation
- extend engine lifetime
- increase vehicle availability
Why Squarell?
Engine information is available on many vehicle networks, but parameters, scaling and availability differ between manufacturers and vehicle models.
Squarell interprets this manufacturer-specific information inside the IVMS and converts it into one consistent Engine Data Parameter Group.
Fleet applications therefore receive engine information instead of OEM-specific CAN data, making technical monitoring across mixed fleets significantly easier.
