Trip Totals (TRT)

Every trip tells a story

Transport companies need reliable trip information for reporting, planning, invoicing and operational analysis.

The Squarell Trip Totals Parameter Group automatically generates a complete summary at the end of every trip. Each trip becomes a standardized record containing the most important operational information, allowing fleets to analyze activities, compare performance and simplify administration.

Automatic Trip Totals at the End of Every Trip

A Trip Total is automatically generated when a trip ends. Typical trip-ending events include:

  • Engine switched off
  • Driver change
  • Fuel type change
  • Extended idle time

Immediately after transmission, a new trip is started automatically.

Data Confidence

Every Trip Total includes a unique trip identifier, end time and GPS location. Combined with distance travelled and fuel consumption, these reference values make it possible to verify the consistency of each trip record before it is used for reporting, invoicing or operational analysis.

Business Value

The Trip Totals Parameter Group transforms every completed journey into a reliable business record.

Instead of processing thousands of live vehicle messages, fleet applications receive one complete and verified trip summary containing distance, fuel consumption, emissions, driver identification and vehicle information.

This simplifies reporting, invoicing, operational analysis and customer billing while reducing the amount of data that needs to be processed.

Why use Trip Totals instead of live data?

Live vehicle data generates thousands of individual messages during every journey.

The Squarell Trip Totals Parameter Group converts this information into one standardized summary that is easier to store, analyze and integrate into fleet management applications.
